This workshop, “Feed Them Right. Watch Them Thrive!” was designed to inspire parents and guardians to take a more active role in supporting their children to be healthy and happy. It focuses primarily on the role of food in this process, though we’ll cover other areas that are needed for a holistic approach to wellness. I am a mother of two boys, now in their late teens. I am also a health and wellness coach, trainer and consultant with more than ten years of experience working in community health. As a mother, I have been experimenting with healthy eating habits for about 15 years now. I have made mistakes along the way and I want to share tips that will help you prevent them as you seek to keep your kids healthy and happy. As I observe my own kids now, I know that the earlier we start integrating healthy food choices in their diet, the more resilient they become and the easier it is for them to make healthier choices on their own. Our kids deserve real foods not junk foods.
The foods they eat can either support or impair their physical and mental development. I have no doubt that you agree with me that all of us parents want our kids to be healthy and happy. We all want our kids to reach their potential in life. However, it is not always easy to know what is best for them especially when it comes to food. There are so many choices out there but even those that are labelled as “healthy” or those with “all natural” ingredients can be misleading. I designed this workshop with you, parents of young children, in mind. I will share some tips that can help you avoid being misled to waste your money on foods that are not nourishing and some that might even be harmful. All foods are not created equal! Learn why and be inspired to take action for the good of your kids at this workshop.
